happy new year
There was a call from a cousin of mine visiting India..He invites me to his wife's dance recital in Narada gana sabha. I go there armed with a bouquet of flowers. I do not remember his wife, Meet him after fifteen years. My maid or my iron wala seems closer to me. He must have felt the same. Then why do we take the labour of calling such relatives.. Trying to find a link because his parent and my parent are siblings? There is a constant effort to widen our relatives/friends circle by all of us. It is fantastic!
well..
Past, present and future..
present is the awareness maybe. Awareness of our being, ability to go down the memory lane, ability to chart out a possible coming of events.. So present could be our life span.
past and future are not clear entities at all..

Rohini's wedding
Wow..My daughter was married on 26, Oct 08 and it is a week gone now. Till about last night I had the lingering feeling of being in a big movie. Two and a half days in the marriage hall with so many people and lights and mantras and posing for the video/camera.
It reminds me of this incident a long time ago:
Cameraman at a wedding: Please smile at the camera..thank you, now you can go back to being your original self!!!

what is enough? is there a measure?
I have thought about it a great deal and always am confused. After a big chain of logical inferences I arrive at the result: there is no measure for 'enough'. It is a relative term.
So is beauty, money, power, intelligence,love--- all relative terms
Now is there something we can all say is not relative but is absolute in this world?
Maybe not, because our existence itself is governed by so many metrics! So what to say of a particular dimension of existence like love, beauty etc? eh??
