I don't know the kid's name. Must be around five. Was shopping with her mother enjoying a lollipop. The little girl went round the mini departmental store several times before her mother could pick up a couple of things. My attention was on the sprightly little child. The mother paid the bill and was out of the shop when the kid decided to add pears soap to the purchase.
Mother refuses to add soap to the purchase. The child does not give in. Fun filled exchanges between them has the shop keeper and me smiling. The mother is out of the shop and the imp calls out after checking with the shop keeper " it is only twenty two rupees".
No says the mother and the child soap in hand goes back and forth calling to the mother. At last in comes the mother and says half resignedly to the shopwala " I don't have the money and shall send it through tomorrow".
And my surprise knew no bounds when the child promptly plucked the soap from the shopping basket and put it back on the stand and went out silently.
What surprised me was, in spite of wanting the soap badly the kid less than five thought the transaction was complete only when the money was paid in!

Is it really true that we want some drama in our life?
Some constantly complain about some physical disorder or the other and in contrast some are at their best if they find themselves in the company of the former because "finding solutions" is their cup of tea.
We come across so many who constantly have a grouse against some person or the existing Government or the insensibility of homo sapiens to the ecology and the list is endless.
I have heard people who animatedly argue how the world is increasingly intolerant, increasingly becoming materialistic, too dependant on machines and the list is endless.
So few are well adjusted to their surroundings and happy with their lot. That is why the person in RT#3 made such an impact on me.
Then where does drama and excitement in life come in? Do they co exist with happiness? Is happiness a superset of these attributes? Let me ponder....

I feel happy about so many people I have had a chance to meet and interact.
I feel like putting them on record in no particular sequence.
Like the person I saw sitting near RKMutt. He was sitting on the pavement. He was not begging but I guess there was a bowl in front of h im. I promptly placed a rupee coin in the bowl and looked at him. He was smiling in general and I have still not forgotten the happiness he exuded. Now, what was his lot I wonder?
He was severely handicapped, sitting on a pavement under the sky. Perhaps he thought it was his duty to keep the begging bowl as a respect to maintain his body. How did he have the smile on his face? I still have not forgotten how my day was made looking at that smiling happy person. Some people are born to bring sunshine around.

me: What is a problem situation, I wonder?
myself:When there is agitation in the mind, maybe
me:Okay, is there a solution for every problem
neela:The trick is not recognising a situation as problem. So there is no problem
myself:Very funny
Neela:There is always a no problem situation when you stop labeling a situation as prolem/non problem. That is when you just sense a situation without ownership
me: Is that possible
neela: Yes. It is all a matter of choice

First of all thank you Shibi for creating this blogspot for me.
Now let me ramble a bit..
This happened some time ago when my first born was less than a year and a half. I was not employed and had all the time in the world to enjoy her growing up. She could identify what most of the illustrated books for the young contained by then! She could point at the ceiling fan and cry out 'SHAAN',point at the passing bicycle and greet it with a smiling 'THAITHL' and I was thrilled that my imparting was making her the admired little one in the family.
My balloon was pricked one day..
I think it was September'82. My daughter and I were getting ready to go for our little walk when she suddenly rushed into the house and was excitedly telling me 'pouring water from plane'( plane lendu tanni podara) and dancing! I followed her outside and lo and behold I see raindrops falling!!
